The end of a great camp!

So, whilst I’m in Florida and the jet lag has worn off, I thought I’d update the blog.  Firstly, the reason why it was not updated all the time was because we had so many activities for the Scouts to participate in. Some nights we got in late from cycling and the water sports definitely worn them out. We also ended up having a fire on the beach, accompanied with marshmallows and sharing stories with other Scouts that they will remember for life.  Now the explanation is over, let’s just give you a little flavour of what they got up to.  In the short, the Scouts (and leaders when they got peer pressured into doing them) participated in vast amounts of cycling, coasteering (jumping off rocks into water), SUPing (like surfing but with a paddle), bushcraft with machette man (Kaz), the underground hospital and abseiling.  On one very hot day, with lots of water being consumed, we all cycled 35 miles around the island. From the leaders point of view, the scouts did exceptio...

Tour De Jersey

Yesterday we went cycling and I crashed! Secondly I hated having to go up steep hills ,although I was really fun going down hills really fast! Josh D Yesterday, we decided to go up the hilliest part of the island which took a long time to get over . But we did get ice cream and cold drinks; me and my brother got stuck behind every single, possible red light there was in st hellier! We were on a really quiet road for AGES! When we were done we did approximately 35 Miles!  Adam C  Yesterday we cycled around jersey on our bikes.  Our leader wasn’t very good so we bought a dead £1 plant for him. He also luled us down a massive hill and at the bottom let us know it was the wrong way. I think he needs to learn how to read signs. Overall he made up for it by purchasing 7 ice creams from Grev De Leque. They were MEATY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Our final time was 5 hours 25 minuets and 3 seconds. As we had such an ‘amazing day’ us explorers were allowed to go to a restaurant for dinner. ...

Communism... well no it’s actually coasteering

What’s going on guys it’s Baguette boy here back with another scout camp let’s play video. James is dissembling my torch and I don’t know if I can go on. If I could frame his face I would be cray cray. God damn it he fixed it. So we went coasteering and went of at 87 (well 40) foot jump. Followed by mini baguettes  and normal baguettes because, viva la France  Ben Yo guys, what’s up. Today we went cycling yet again.  we cycled to the beach and then went coasteering, it was freezinggggggggg!!!!!!!!! Btw the guides don’t like us but we don’t like them. Yet again, another scout v guides round off.  Bye now  Molly and Elena  Hey guys we went coasteering it was fun. One of the explorers isn’t very good at cycling (its Fin).  K bye Henry,

The day we walked down a wall

The dinner was plain (ish), it was sausages with plain mash , yes , plain and mushy peas mixed in with garden peas, you could tell what a big mess that made in the end . Today, we abseiled down a wall and then the dinner!  -Ben H We cycled very far today and it was DIFFICULT and in two days we are going to cycle even further (help). We walked down a wall as our activity today  ‘fun’ also the guides turned up today which means we are having to change the location of our toilets!  ~Cal  Today was great. The abseiling wasn’t too hard and we found the longest steepest hill ever. And I now know don’t power hose a plate, soaked clothes.  ~Chris

Beaches, hurting feet and massive war tunnels

Today we travelled far and wide through treacherous woods and encountered steep hills. We have been forced to go past our abilities and travel for 10 miles up mountains and past the promenade. We  had ice cream for our minimal rations and we were given plain noodles and chicken, cooked by us, for dinner. Yesterday we had some very interesting chicken meatballs and pasta but because we hadn’t been fed all day we forced to feed it down our greedy gullets. The shower trickled through my hair and hardly washed it at all. You should be lucky if you see us on Saturday ;)  Ollie  In the morning we went and visited some world war 2 tunnels in which we learnt about the German of jersey in the tunnels which where about a kilometre we spent about  2-3 hours. After we got out we had to walk back to the campsite that took the rest of the afternoon in which chris was traveling back and forth ferrying people back we eventually got back and started tea.      Jacob Thi...

Welcome to our blog!

Hello I'd like to introduce you all to our blog. Each night, the Scouts / Explorers will sit down and write their experiences of the day as a blog post. Myself (James), ASL to Tuesday Troop, will oversee the running of the blog and will also run the dropbox for you. The dropbox will be live on the Saturday and the links will be available via the email. Same with the blog, each night, we will upload pictures of what we have taken of the Scouts during the day. The leaders, like last time, may occasionally make a post but it is mainly for the Scouts and Explorers to share their experiences of the week and creating long lasting memories. They are all in safe hands on camp and will be well fed... providing they don't burn their food! So not long until camp and I think I should finish packing! Bye for now James
